MOSCOW, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s United Metallurgical Company (OMK) is considering options to construct a 1.5 million tonne electric steel-producing facility at its subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works, the company said in a corporate magazine released on Monday.
The company plans to define parameters of the plant, which will boost the current 1.2 million tonne capacity, until the end of March 2019.
OMK also continues construction of a 40 billion ruble steel-rolling unit at Vyksa Steel Works with a capacity of 450,000 tonnes of seamless steel pipes per year. The company plans to launch the unit in the first half of 2022.
